How the landmark became the venue
A skyline icon built for gatherings at city scale.
Marina Bay Sands opened on 27 April 2010 after Las Vegas Sands won Singapore’s integrated-resort bid in 2006. Moshe Safdie’s three hotel towers, the shared SkyPark and an enormous convention centre made it a tourism landmark and a natural home for a conference that wants to feel like a city within the city.
