How a modern resort borrowed the logic of old Dubai

Madinat Jumeirah opened in phases from 2003, creating a contemporary resort from the visual language of wind towers, shaded souks and water transport. Mina A’Salam arrived first, Al Qasr and Dar Al Masyaf followed, and the lighter Al Naseem completed the modern four-hotel campus in 2016.
